The Beech River Regional Airport is a greenfield project situated on 474-acres in eastern Henderson County, Tennessee. The airport has a 6000-foot-long x 150-foot-wide concrete runway with appurtenances costing $15 million. The airport, owned by Henderson and Decatur Counties and the cities of Lexington and Parsons, is operated by the Beech River Regional Airport Authority. The project included site selection, site grading, erosion control, fencing, concrete runway paving, parallel taxiway and aprons, runway/taxiway lighting and signage, an entrance road, the terminal building, a maintenance hangar and T-hangars. The design was in accordance with FAA and TDOT/aeronautics guidelines.
