TLM Associates, Inc. was selected by the City of Paris, TN in 2009 to prepare a TDOT Transportation Alternatives grant application to add a park in Downtown Paris. The project involved renovating a predeveloped site consisting of a concrete parking lot and buildings. The property was demolished and repurposed for the new Downtown Mini Park.
The new park includes three main features: an information kiosk, a fountain, and an open-air pavilion. Brick sidewalks connect the features to each other as well as to the existing perimeter sidewalks. Raised lawn panels were installed and the park was landscaped with trees to screen the adjacent buildings to the west and the remaining parking lot to the south. The 560-square foot open-air pavilion was designed to complement the existing courthouse across the street, and the 10-foot diameter fountain also compliments the historical downtown elements. The park now serves as a gateway to downtown visitors with an information kiosk and plaques that commemorate the history and progress of Downtown Paris.
