Benton County Electric
This new administrative building for Benton County Electric System replaces their sixty year old facility, and includes new features such as the customer service area/main lobby, offices, training room, conference room, board room, and other administrative spaces. Benton Electric also includes a two-lane drive-thru for bill paying and customer service, and large glass facades on the north corner.
Energy efficiency was a high priority for Benton County. The building's entire electrical system is monitored, allowing them to gague their own usage in real time. The mechanical system uses VAV controls, allowing HVAC loads to be adjusted per space instead of larger zones. Glass and ambient daylighting in the north corner of the lobby space provide the benefits of sunlight without any additional solar load.
