TLM partnered with the project owners to renovate a historic building located on Court Square in downtown Trenton, transforming a deteriorating structure into a revitalized space for an Edward Jones office. The project focused on restoring the building’s original character while introducing modern functionality, creating a space that respects its history while serving present-day needs.

When the project began, the building had experienced years of deterioration, including extensive water damage and previous renovations that concealed many of its original architectural details.

The exterior renovation addressed both aesthetic and structural challenges. The original facade included small, outdated windows, an off-center entry, and damaged roof elements that contributed to ongoing water issues.

TLM redesigned the facade to improve both function and visual appeal. Enhancements included enlarged window openings, improved entry alignment, and the addition of copper awnings and updated materials that complement the historic setting. These changes created a more balanced, welcoming streetscape presence while maintaining the building’s original character.

A key goal of the project was to uncover and restore the building’s historic elements. Original brickwork that had been covered by stucco was revealed and incorporated back into the design, helping return the structure to its authentic appearance.

The renovation carefully reintroduced architectural features that aligned with the building’s historic context, including period-style lighting, custom wood shutters, and design elements that reflect the character of the surrounding downtown district.
